The Research Department under Alfaisal University’s Surgery Interest Group serves as a dynamic platform for students passionate about surgical science and innovation. With over 50 research projects and more than 130 matched students, the department fosters a collaborative and ambitious environment focused on academic excellence, evidence-based practice, and student-driven inquiry. Through mentorship, abstract presentations, and journal clubs, we empower aspiring surgeons to lead in both clinical and research arenas.

SIG Research Initiative
Our research initiative focuses on facilitating research projects and connecting students with experienced surgeons and researchers. This initiative aims to enhance students’ exposure to surgical research and to explore and develop innovative surgical solutions across various specialties. To date, we are proud to have more than 50 ongoing research projects within diverse surgical fields, connecting over 120 students to invaluable hands-on experience and mentorship from leading surgeons in the industry.
